I am particularly interested in natural objects found on my walks and “microscapes” (detailed studies of rocks and rock pools for example). I feel very fortunate to live in awesome Northumberland and I enjoy being able to draw links between my various interests such as walking, natural history and art and craft. My favourite media are water soluble pencil, ink and watercolour. I have recently started exploring printing (linocut and woodcut) which is opening new doors into creativity for me.

Exploring and experimenting are important to me in order to continue developing the way I look at things as well as my drawing and painting skills. I am a self-taught artist, however I value the benefits of going on courses and workshops a great deal as well as the input, inspiration and support gained from fellow artists in Howick Art Group.
